Cebu is scattered with a collection of countless amazing waterfalls, and Inambakan Falls in the Ginatilan region is one of my personal favourites.
The tropical jungle scene and vibrant blue tones of the water that awaits you at Inambakan Falls are a staple of Cebu’s famous colours, making it one of the more popular in the region. The multi-tiered waterfall is a real masterpiece and deserves a fairly large chunk of time to experience, so grab your motorbike keys and some water-based activity packing essentials and prepare for an awesome day out!
In this guide I’ll explain everything you need to know about Inambakan Falls including how to get there, what to expect and what to bring along with you!

Where to stay in Cebu
The town of Moalboal is the ideal base for adventures in South Cebu.
Moalboal is the most popular place to stay as there is an abundance of accommodation, food and transport options in town to go along with the cool vibe. It is also the scuba-diving capital of the island, so there are many things to do during your stay here.

How to get there
You can rent a scooter for around 400 pesos in Moalboal to get to the falls which is the most popular and adventurous way to explore South Cebu. Alternatively, travel in style and rent a car for your time on the island with RentalCars.com
The 52km drive to Inambakan Falls takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes from Moalboal and is mostly along the coastal highway before ascending into the mountains.
Entrance fee
The entrance fee at Inambakan Falls is 50 pesos plus an additional 10 pesos for parking.
Just like most waterfall hikes in Cebu, the ticket price includes a compulsory guide who will lead you along the short trail. The path is extremely short and I don’t think a guide was necessary at all at Inambakan, but you’ll get one regardless!
How long to allow
The duration of this journey largely depends on a few factors like how many photos you take, how long you want to swim or relax for, and how many levels of the falls you visit.
In total I’d allow a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 3 to see Inambakan Falls.
What to expect at Inambakan Falls
Once you’ve arrived and parked your bike, visiting Inambakan Falls could not be easier! The walk from the parking area to the main waterfall is super short and takes less than 5 minutes along an easy set of concrete steps. It must be said… having a guide for this adventure is a bit of a joke (especially one who doesn’t show you the other 4 levels!)… but it is what it is.
You’re able to hear the thundering main waterfall straight away and arriving at its basin you’ll probably have a huge smile and expression of awe on your face. It sure has some power!
This is likely where you’ll spend most of your time as it is the most famous, impressive and photogenic spot in the area.
After that you can tackle the set of stairs and short trail to the other levels behind the main waterfalls.
You can see these levels in the drone shots below, which are made up of a collection of more idyllic rock pools and swimming locations rather than thunderous falls.
Once you’re satisfied with what you’ve seen simply head back the same way you came and return to your vehicle! Feel free to give a small tip to your guide if you appreciate the job they did.
My experience at Inambakan Falls
When I visited Inambakan Falls it was on a day where I was also visiting a bunch of other waterfalls, meaning time was a factor for me. I actually didn’t even know about the upper levels until after I got home for the day and did some research – not the best way of doing things!
What I did see at Inamabakan blew my mind, but I was admittedly pretty gutted because I missed so many cool locations here, not to mention that I had a guide with me who didn’t even mention the epic trail to the different tiers of falls! Surely that’s what these guides are for?! He offered to take photos of us at the main waterfall but didn’t say much else, but I guess it’s my own fault for not doing research before I arrived.
Still, Inambakan is one of my favourite waterfalls for drone photography and definitely one of the more powerful waterfalls on Cebu. Next time I go I will certainly be milking my time there!
